What is a Vehicle Service Contract
A vehicle service contract provides Mechanical Breakdown Coverage on your vehicle. Mechanical Breakdown Coverage is defined as: "A failure of a covered part under normal service due to defects in material and workmanship."
PRco's Service Contracts must be purchased from an appointed PRco dealer at the time you buy your vehicle. We have dealers in California, Washington, Nevada and Oregon. Check our online dealer listings or call us at 1-800-388-7726 for a dealer reference in your area
Ask your independent used car dealer if he sells PRco. If he doesn't, have him call us and we'll send out a representative with all the details on the best vehicle service contract in the industry. (Top)

How do I file a claim?
You must call PRco at 1-800-388-7726 first for instructions.
If the vehicle requires a "tear down" for complete diagnosis, you must authorize the shop to do so. PRco will pay the cost of the tear down if the failure is covered. If the failure is not covered, you will be responsible for the diagnosis cost. If you will not authorize "tear down'" PRco will not be able to provide an authorization number. If the failure is covered under the terms of the contract, PRco will give the shop the authorized amount and authorization number.
Once the work has been completed to your satisfaction, you must sign the repair order. Check to be sure it has an a shop warranty for labor and parts, PRco's authorization number and amount on it before you sign. You are responsible for the deductible, sales tax, and any non-covered charges to the repair facility. If the shop takes our direct payment over the phone, they should fax the signed repair order to us immediately. We will review the repair order for all required information: Authorization number, your signature, warranty of parts and labor, VIN, mileage, etc. Once it is approved, we will call the shop back with credit card payment authorization.  If you are paying the shop, you must present the signed repair order to PRco. If all is in order, you will receive prompt reimbursment by mail.
PRco reserves the right to move your vehicle to an alternate repair facility and reserves the right to inspect your vehicle before authorizing repairs. PRco's toll-free customer service number 1-800-388-7726. (Top)

When is PRco's office open?
You can reach us at 1-800-388-7726 Monday thru Friday between 8:30AM and 5PM Pacific. On Saturday, our phones are open between 9AM and 1PM. For non-repair questions, you can always contact us online. (Top)

What do I do if my car breaks down on the weekend?
If you have a failed part that requires "emergency" repairs performed outside PRco's normal business hours, you are responsible for authorizing and paying for the repair. Prior to performing the emergency repairs, you must notify PRco by calling 1-800-388-PRCO (7726) and leave your name, contract number, telephone number with area code and a brief statement for the kind of emergency repairs required on the automated answering system. If you do not notify PRco of the emergency repairs, as stated above, you will not be reimbursed. After performing the repairs, you must call PRco immediately during the next available normal business hours and PRco will determine if the failed part is covered according to the terms, conditions and exclusions of your contract. If it is covered, PRco will reimburse you according to the terms, conditions and exclusions of your contract. If the failed part is not covered, you will not be reimbursed. (Top)

Can I transfer my PRco Coverage?
Yes! If you sell your vehicle while still under contract, you may transfer the contract to the new owner for the remaining time or miles. Send PRco all proof of maintenance and service. PRco service contracts require you to change engine oil, oil filter, lubricate suspension and steering linkage and any other manufacturer-recommended maintenance every 3 months or 3,000 miles whichever occurs first.
Complete a transfer form. Send the completed form, maintenance records and a check for the transfer fee to PRco. (Top)

How do I change my address or phone?
If you move or change your phone number, please let us know! It's very important that our records are up to date - without current info, it may take longer to settle a claim. All you need to do is call us at 1-800-388-7726 or fill out our form online. (Top)

Can I extend my service contract?
For our customers in California, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon, you may qualify for PRco's Mechanical Breakdown Protection. (Top)
